Our Top Asked Questions
Curious about joining a Camp Hoppi adventure but have a few questions bouncing around in your head? We’ve rounded up the most common questions we get and answered them all right here.
1. Who is Camp Hoppi for?
Camp Hoppi is for open-hearted adventurers aged 20–35 who are keen to explore the world in a meaningful way. Our trips combine cultural immersion, hiking, and a good dose of community. You don’t need to be super fit or wildly extroverted — just willing to show up with curiosity and kindness.
2. Do I have to be really outdoorsy?
Not at all! While we do love getting out in nature, Camp Hoppi isn’t about climbing Everest or going full Bear Grylls. Think scenic walks, relaxed camping, and sunrise mountain views. No experience needed — just a willingness to try.
3. What kind of people usually come on a trip?
We attract friendly, down-to-earth humans who are keen to connect with others, spend time outside, and have a laugh. Many come solo — some are at a crossroads in life, others are just taking a break. You’ll likely leave with a bunch of new friends.
4. Are phones allowed?
Yes! Our trips are built around presence, which means phone-free dinners, limited service, and moments where we just sit and soak it all in.
5. What’s the alcohol situation?
Our events and trips are low-alcohol by choice, which means we don’t center our experiences around drinking. A sunset beer or celebratory wine? Totally welcome. But we skip the big nights out and focus on connection in other ways — games, campfires, storytelling, hiking, and shared meals.
6. What does the price include?
Each trip varies, but most Camp Hoppi adventures include accommodation, most meals, guides, cultural experiences, and all planning taken care of. We partner with local businesses and ethical tour operators, so your money supports real communities. You'll always get a full breakdown before you book.
7. Can I come alone?
Absolutely! Most people do. You’ll be in great company — we build in lots of ways to connect with others from day one, and many of our solo travellers leave feeling part of something much bigger.
8. How fit do I need to be?
You don’t need to be running marathons — promise. But being able to walk for a few hours with a backpack (and a smile!) definitely helps. We offer prep hikes and training tips beforehand, especially for our longer treks like Nepal.
9. What’s the vibe like?
Think: wholesome fun. Days are spent adventuring, nights are filled with games, chats, and storytelling. There’s space for quiet and reflection too. People say it feels like a school camp for grown-ups — in the best way.
10. How do I join a trip?
Easy! Head to our website or Instagram to see upcoming trips. When something calls to you, fill out the interest form. We’ll usually have a quick call to make sure it’s a good fit, then you’ll lock in your spot with a deposit. From there, we’ll support you every step of the way.
